First Angels cuts of spring

| | Comments (0) |

OK, they're not really cuts like a guy is sent packing, they are actually reassignments. The Angels sent three players from big-league camp to the minor-league side, including catchers Hank Conger and Anel De Los Santos and infielder Ryan Mount. Conger, out of Huntington Beach, was a first-round pick in 2005 and batted .290 in 84 games at Single-A Cedar Rapids last season with 11 home runs and 48 RBI.

Catchers are typically in the first group of players being reassigned since many of the lower-level catchers are invited to big-league camp to help pitchers get in their early spring work. The Angels now have 61 players in big-league camp, including 23 non-roster invitees.
