Figgins out with an infection

| | Comments (1) |

Manager Mike Scioscia said he made Chone Figgins a late stratch against the Dodgers on Friday because of an infection Figgins developed on a cut near his knee. Scioscia said Figgins is on antibiotics and the infection is not deemed to be serious. Robb Quinlan started at third base in place of Figgins. The Angels' regular leadoff hitter is available for pinch-hit duty if necessary.

Just what we need, more illness or injury or whatever you want to call this garbage. Does anyone on the Angels staff keep up on these guys? Maybe put some Bactine on their owies?

And what's with this horrible offense? Vlad sure was a disappointment in the first. Between Vlad and Howie we sure have some big rally killers in this lineup.

Joe Saunders is lousy tonight too. He looks half asleep. He needed 46 pitches to get through two and now a leadoff hit in the third. I guess Joe doesn't want his 12th win. Why can't the Angels just start their offense and kill lousy teams like the Dodgers?

Speaking of the Dodgers, someone needs to take that idiot Russell Martin out with a Darin Erstad tackle. We owe him big for what he did last year to Casey.
