The Angels reassigned pitcher A.J. Schugel to their minor-league camp, optioned pitcher Brandon Sisk to Triple-A Salt Lake and optioned outfielder Travis Witherspoon to Double-A Arkansas.
Schguel pitched five spring innings, allowing 10 hits, four runs (all earned), one walk, and striking out two. The 23-year-old finished last season at Double-A, where he started 27 games.
Witherspoon hit .417 (5-for-12) with a home run, double and seven RBIs. He also stole a base. A 12th-round draft pick by the Angels in 2009, the 23-year-old split last season between the High-A California League and Double-A Arkansas.
Sisk, who was acquired from the Kansas City Royals in the Ervin Santana trade, allowed one hit and one run in two spring innings.
The Angels now have 50 players in major-league camp.
