Phase One of LAX’s new Tom Bradley International Terminal was supposed to be done by now. It’s not. But for the next three days, airport officials will nonetheless celebrate the more than $1.7 billion building.
Part of the reason appears to be as an honor to outgoing Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the new terminal’s champion. He leaves office at the end of June. Instead of a ribbon cutting, he gets some preview days.
We’re getting a sneak peak this morning at the new terminal. You can register to visit the building between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday. Or if you would prefer to wait, much of the terminal should be completed by late summer or early fall.
Here are some airport-handout pictures and renderings to whet your appetite.
