Los Angeles City Council member Mike Bonin has introduced a motion to ask that a key committee review construction consultant contracts at Los Angeles International Airport.
Bonin referenced my Tuesday story in his motion. Bonin asked airport staff to report to the Trade, Commerce and Tourism Committee within 30 days about the airport’s policy for when and when not to use consultants. Bonin’s district includes LAX.
“The report included specific examples of expense reimbursements to airport consultants, including subsidies for housing, cars, meals, and furniture allowances,” the motion said. “As LAWA continues its planning for $2.4 billion of improvements at LAX over the next few years, it is important to review and clarify airport policy regarding expense reimbursements and construction contracts.
