Los Angeles International Airport is on track for a record year for international passenger traffic, according to airport officials.
In a report to the Board of Airport commissioners last week, officials said they expect 17.61 million international travelers to go through LAX this year, a number that would (barely) edge out 2005 when 17.49 million international passengers used the airport.
Overall traffic also continues to rise, though airport officials predict they will be about 1.5 million passengers short of the all-time high set in 2000. The prediction for this year is about 65.7 million passengers.
Where can you go from LAX? If you’re traveling internationally, the answer is many places, though there are some holes in Latin America. We’ll get into the reason for those holes at some point in the future. But for now, here’s route map compiled by LAX.
