LAX: Minor mishap in November causes two aircraft engine dents

A regional jet struck a luggage cart at Los Angeles International Airport last month causing minor engine damage to the plane, according to a Federal Aviation Administration report.

The incident happened on Nov. 1 when a Embrarer E-170 struck an “unattended” American Airline baggage cart, the report shows. The luggage cart struck the airplane’s left engine. It caused “two baseball sized dents.”

The report does not state which airline was operating the plane. But there are relatively few E-170s at LAX, and many of them appear to be operated by Compass Airlines for Delta Connection.
