UPDATE: 11 a.m. The coroner has identified the man as Cesar Valenzuela, 51, of Los Angeles.

A Los Angeles International Airport worker driving a luggage cart died early Friday when he lost control of the vehicle on a service road, authorities said.

The incident happened close to an airport fire station, but emergency responders were not able to revive the man, officials said. It happened at about 5 a.m.

“The vehicle came to a stop near the LAFD Station 80 where fire personnel viewed the vehicle and responded immediately. They found the party unconscious. Paramedics then responded and were not able to revive the party.”

Flights were not impacted by the incident, officials said. The coroner is investigating, LAX officials said.
