UPDATE 11:20 a.m.: An FBI spokeswoman tells us Ciancia has been transferred by the U.S. Marshals Service to “federal custody” and is being held at an undisclosed location. No court date has been scheduled.
ORIGINAL POST: Suspected LAX shooter Paul Ciancia was released from Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on Monday, hospital officials said. He was taken there on Nov. 1 after he was shot by Los Angeles World Airports police who pursued him in Terminal 3.
An FBI spokeswoman couldn’t immediately tell my colleague Larry Altman where Ciancia was taken, but he is most certainly not free. He was likely taken to a federal facility where could be both treated and confined.
