Saturday Night Live

After a slow start, Saturday Night Live has started picking up this season.
Last week was Zach Galifianakis, this weekend was Jude Law again and secret guest Jerry Seinfeld.

His last time as host was with the Ashlee Simpson, lip sync debacle whereas, this time there was no problem with lip syncing. It was Pearl Jam as the musical guest.

Some of the highlights of the Law's appearance last night included.
Jude as himself in a sketch about his audition for his current role on Broadway on Hamlet. Other actors who were apparently auditioning for the role were Al Pacino (impression by Bill Hader), Nicolas Cage (Andy Samberg) and Nathan Lane (Bobby Moynihan) with cryptic advise given by Sam Elliott (Jason Sudeikis).

Another highlight was a remake of the classic Twilight Zone segment of the creature on the wing of the plane that William Shatner (and no one else) sees. This time, it was Hader as Rod Serling and Law in the Shatner role. The creature on the wing is a bizarre looking fuzzy human-shaped being (again, Moynihan) who does progressively bizarre things on the wing, ended each act with a menacing, but comical jump into a threatening, fighting position. The creature first flicks a lit cigarette at Law's window, then BBQ's, exercises on a treadmill, then successfully moves a large, off-balance wedding cake from one high table to another, then chats and laughs with Pearl Jam until they all jump into the threatening position at the same time.

Law's appearance also featured him doing multiple different accents other than his own, including Americans in the Twilght Zone sketch and a skit about an annoyed lawyer bothered by a terrible stenographer and a Spanish-accented local murderer.

The news with Seth Meyers featured Seinfeld in the "Really???!?!? With Seth and Jerry." Seinfeld is a natural for that bit.
