Vegetarian Lincoln Lunch + $2

I set out to check out Garden Wok's $5.50 lunch and was pleased with the food but not as much with the price, which totaled $7.

Garden Wok on Reseda Blvd in Tarzana is all vegetarian and has a number of lunch choices for $5.50 that include tea, brown rice, soup or spring roll, plus an entree. I had eggplant with basil, but what came was spicy eggplant with bamboo shoots. The server also brought me wontons instead of a springroll. But all was very tasty, even the clear corn-and-tofu soup. Portions were also good.

With tax the bill was $6, plus a $1 tip brings it to $7, a bit over my goal of $5. Still, the food was good and fresh. Read other reviews here.
