$5 Indian lunch

I'm learning the key to a successful Lincoln Lunch is sticking to one dish and eshewing extras like drinks and appetizers and dessert. I had mild success reigning in my order at the new Arya Bhavan in Canoga Park. The lunch buffet was $5.99 so instead I ordered the chana masala (chickpeas and onions in a spicy red curry sauce) for $4.99. But the mini samosas looked so tasty and they were only $.60. So I got one. That brought the total to $6.05, plus a $1 tip. The chana masala was hot and a good portion. The samosa was warm but still tasty dipped in a green hot sauce and a red sweet sauce.

Other lincoln options: Daal $4.99, Aloo Ghobi $4.99, Aloo Matar $4.99, Chana Bhatora or Chana Puri for $3.99 each. A half chicken tandoori style is $5.50. Lots of breads, rice, appetizers, soups, and sweets for under $5.

Visit them at 7257 Topanga. (818) 340-7500.
