Lincoln Lunch: $.99 tacos

TacosMini.jpg(not my actual lunch)

Stopped by El Taco Loco in Valley Village today on my way back from an assignment and was pleased with their $.99 cent tacos. I ordered three mini-tacos (tortillas about a 3-inch diameter), one each: al pastor (marinated pork), carnitas (regular pork), and pollo (this is LA folks, do you really need a translation?)

The chicken taco was juicy with lightly sauteed onions. With a little salsa, badaboom-badabing! The al pastor meat was tasty, but also slightly bland. I liked the carnitas the least (wonder if that's 'cuz I ate it last) because the meat was a bit dry. Again, salsa improved things. All three tacos were dusted with chopped onions and cilantro. My plate also came with about a dozen chips.

With tax the tab came to $3.22, way under my fiver-goal. Cha-ching!

Visit them at 5424 Laurel Canyon Rd. (818) 752-3845.
