Southwest sale
Southwest just launched a fare sale with $49 to $109 one-way flights on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday. If you can get an early morning flight Sat, then return on Tue you get a nice vacation without burning too much vacation time. Seattle is lovely this time of year (I just returned and loved it). If I had the cash I would spring for an outdoorsy retreat to Denver or a beach vacation to one of Southwest's 5 destinations in Hawaii (Hilo, Honolulu, Maui, Kona, or Lihue Kauai).
Caveats: book by Aug 23 for travel between Aug 28 and Jan 11. Need 14-advance purchase.
