Free cooking technique classes
Williams and Sonoma has free technique classes every Sunday from 10 to 11 a.m. Here are the choices (drumroll): Braising, Knife Skills, Cupcakes, Pie Crust, Espresso, and Fresh Pasta. I could really use the pie crust class. No matter how many times my baker-mom tells me how to do it, they always fall apart.
Register by calling the store where you want to take the class. It is not hands on, but they show you how to do it while talking. Their regular cooking classes are $50. Find a store near you here.
