Leda's bake shop

The mini-cupcakes at Leda's bake shop in Sherman Oaks were so tempting that I considered making a Lincoln Lunch out of them. At $1.50 each I could buy three with a fiver (Lincoln is on the fiver, you know). But all that sugar wouldn't keep me full for long. Instead I bought a decaf Americano (shots of espresso plus water, a bit sharper than coffee) and met my first fan!
When I handed the barista a hot pink Bargain Hunter flier she said she reads it every Thur in the paper. Wow! I was a total goofball and squealed "I'm famous!" Then I walked out before thanking her for reading and asking her if she was interested in any particular sales. Doh!
Leda's also makes vegan versions of its cookies, brownies, and scones. Visit them at 13722 Ventura Blvd, just west of Woodman. (818) 386-9644.
