Mudra dresses
Found a great dress shop in the middle of the Santa Monica promenade. I used to avoid Mudra (no Web site unfortunately!) because I assumed their adorable dresses were pricey, but I was pleasantly surprised to find them around $30. Many were short, casual, beach cover-ups or zaney cocktail dresses. An Asian-inspired silk wrap with a plunging necklines and sash tie was $32. A cotton 70s-print halter with banded neck was $29. They have a small changing room and accept cash or credit. The shop is across from Anthropologie at Santa Monica Blvd on the promenade.
