50-cents of heaven
I ate the most incredible thing last night, a mochi from Trader Joe's. It's basically the Japanese version of a bon bon: a ball of ice cream with a coating. But here's where the creators of the mochi totally outdid the creators of the bon bon. A mochi is covered in a soft, chewey rice-based dough, making it not very cold to hold while you nibble away. The chocolate coating in a bon bon starts to melt *and* it makes your fingers white with cold. Not fun. A six pack of mochi's sells for $3 and they come in chocolate, strawberry, and green tea. Eating one made me feel almost as good as being able to run again after two depressing long weeks of not running. I have to thank a friend of Hubby's cousin Maggie for introducing me to the mochi while eating dinner at Hama Sushi.
So here's a poll. What do you prefer, traditional bon bons, mochi's, or plain ice cream? Vote for mochis!!!

My daughter really has a thing for these. I thought you might want to know that they also come in Mango.
Thanks for all the great info. and ideas.
