Reader rec for jeweler
Dee called up to recommend her longtime jeweler, Denny Lesser Jewelers in Chatsworth (no Web site unfortunately). He charges $4 for a new watch battery, much lower than the $10 standard. Lesser sells "very unusual" pieces, creates custom pieces and sizes rings. Dee said his prices are very low and when I called to chat with Denny he confirmed that his shop sells wholesale to the public as a way to stay competitive with the big chains. His prices are 1/3 to 1/2 lower than what you will find at chains, he claims. Lesser has been in business 38 years.
