Pop's unfinished furniture
Yet another small business closing shop. Pop's Unfurnished Furniture on Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills is clearing out its stock and has markdowns good enough to make me wish my apartment was bigger! There is still a good selection and, contrary to the store's name, some pieces are finished. I saw a large TV hutch made of thick, hard wood for $700. A low two-door cabinet with a light brown finish, good for the foot of your bed or your media collection, was $150.
A high six-drawer dresser with roller drawers was $540, a nightstand was $120. A massive buffet, similar to the one above, was $1,000. A kitchen cart with tile on the counter part, two small drawers, two shelves and spots for four wine bottles was $250. A kitchen table that would easily seat eight was $600.
Most of the furniture is made out of maple or pine. Pop's sells varnishes and finishes. The sale will last until the stock is gone, then the company will move the Mexican Rustic furniture line into the space. They accept cash, credit card and check. All sales are final.
Visit them at 22223 Ventura Blvd. in Woodland Hills, a hair east of the Topanga entrace to 101 south/east. (818) 226-1900. Hours Mon to Sat 10 to 7, Sun 10 to 6. UPDATE: The 818 number may not be working. Pop's also lists 888-838-0707 on their Web site, but this number is not staffed Tue and Thurs.
