Needs v. wants

VERSUS
I need versus I want. Often we blur the two, which is why so many of us overspend. To clarify my desires I'm making two lists with my rationale for what belongs on each. As my budget allows, I'll move things up from the Wants list to the Needs list. Make your own and let me know how you justified everything!
Needs:
brown belt to wear to work - The one I have is ripped at the holes.
flannel sheets - The set my Mom gave me to keep me warn when I went to college back East has three small holes that could bust open. Any. Second.
khakis - The pair I have don't fit anymore. Running = small butt = pants that make me feel like a stick.
Wants:
sexy black boots - My hip younger sister informed me recently that my flat, round toe boots are *really* out of style. "Don't get me started on your boots," were her words exactly. But the lining is hot pink! And they will last for many more years.
black pants - see khakis above. Put this on the wants list because I already have three pairs of black pants.
black flats - I already have a pair of low black heels that I love but for some outfits they are too corporate.
socks - I'm sick of my argyles. But being bored with clothes isn't a great reason to buy new stuff even though I do it all the time. If I see a good sale, I'll bite.
