How long does makeup last?

| | Comments (1) |

MakeupLady.jpgThe latest issue of Shop Smart magazine, a fun, informative glossy put out by the folks at Consumer Reports, puts expiration dates on everything from lipstick to sunscreen. Test your know-how, then run to the bathroom and toss your festering lip gloss like I did.

How long should you keep the following products? Answers are either A, between two weeks and four months, B, six months to a year or C, one year plus.

1. Blush
2. Eyeliner
3. Foundation
4. Lipstick
5. Makeup brushes
6. Makeup sponges
7. Mascara
8. Moisturizer
9. Self-tanner
10. Sunscreen
11. Tweezers and eyelash curlers

For the answers click below.

1.C 2.A 3.B 4.C 5.C 6.A 7.A 8.B 9.C 10.B 11.C

Why toss it at all? Makeup can become contaminated with bacteria or may become ineffective after a time.

I hardly wear make up but would like to know how long to keep it, especially lipsticks.
