Lincoln Lunch: Mexican

ThreeTacos.jpg(not my actual lunch) How convenient is this? A taco restaurant adjacent to a car wash. It is especially brilliant if you are hungry, which I usually am. To satisfy my hunger I ordered the three taco combo plate at Tacos y Cemitas Puebla while next door my friend had Canoga Park Car Wash spiff up her Prius. The open air eatery was enclosed in clear plastic so we could see the cars roll off the washer.

The tacos - one pollo, one pastor, one asada - were delicious after I dressed them up with chopped onions and cilantro, a squeeze of lime, and green salsa. The rice was fine but the refried beans were very bland. A few chips were a tasty addition to the plate. The menu in the window priced the meal at $5.99 but they charged me $4.99 so it ended up being a Lincoln Lunch.

Other $5 Lincoln Lunches (so-named because that's Lincoln on the fiver) on the menu included three taquitos for $4.95, enchiladas for $4.95, two hard shell tacos for $4.99 and two fish tacos for $4.99. Tostadas were $3.50 and $3.25 and super nachos were $4. All the breakfast items were under $5.

Visit them at 21008 Sherman Way in Canoga Park. (818) 704-4773. Open 9 to 11 everyday.
