Best long lasting lip color
Testers at the consumer-friendly magazine ShopSmart tested out four lip stains that claim to last for 8 to 16 hours. So which ones held up? Very few. But three lasted much longer than regular lipstick.
They recommend Cover Girl Outlast All-Day Lipcolor, L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipcolour, and Maybelline Superstay Lipcolor. All are about $9. They recommend not buying Estee lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Lip Duo, which is $24.
Caveats: the long-lasting lip colors have two parts, the stain and the gloss. ShopSmart's 14 testers said they had to reapply gloss during the day.
Other interesting lipstick facts: A poll of 1,600 ShopSmart readers said the own an average of 13 lipsticks and lip glosses. 41 percent of women said they carry between three and 10 lip colors in their purses. Readers buy an average of 6 lipsticks per year. 20 percent of women have returned lipsticks.

I find the recommended brands the longest lasting also. They last even longer if you wait an hour before applying the gloss.
I don't ever use the gloss and LOVE Cover Girl Outlast. It lasts all day. Darker colors last longer than light ones. I also often mix 2 colors - works great.
I have used these for years and LOVE them! I have an allergy to lanolin and cannot wear regular lipstick.
They do last longer the longer you wait to apply the gloss.
