Cheap eats all over LA
Just in time for my theme day on food, the LA Times Food section has a big spread on cheap eats in the region. I could almost eat the art, but the prices leave my stomach rumbling.
Of the three deals on the cover the cheapest is $12 for three mini-burgers. Um, you guys have heard of In-n-Out, right? Another "delicious deal" is a $35 tasting menu. For that money I want to be stuffed and buzzed when I leave!
I guess my standards are...cheaper. I don't consider anything above $10 for lunch or $15 for dinner to be a "bargain."
Here are the cheaper deals the story spotlights:
Two can eat an Afghan dumping dinner at Chopan Kebab House for about $20. Visit them at 8910 Reseda Ave. in Northridge.
Tender Greens in Culver city has a pot roast dinner for $10. They are at 9523 Culver Blvd.
European dinners at Sabina's run about $5.75. Visit them at 1253 Vine St. in Los Angeles.
El Taco Loco's taco de tripas is $1.25. This is a standard price for a taco, but if you want to eat this particular one visit El Taco Loco at 1465 Magnolia Ave. in Long Beach.

Pizzeria Venti in Porter Ranch, next to Baja Fresh is having family nights on Wednesday nights. For $20 you get a large (rectangular) pizza and a sald for a family of 4-5.
We agree. Great Family deal becuase it very, very good food. way better than cheap pizza at cheap prices. Definately not a hut.
