Sears 20% off appliance sale
Kenmore elite appliances are 20% off at Sears through Saturday, July 12, 2008. I've seen many appliance sales of 10% but 20% is unusual so if you have the money to pony up, now is a good time to do it.
Before the discount a top loading freezer with 5 cubic feet of storage space is $200. Good for stashing groceries you are buying on sale! A black 25 cubic foot refrigerator with double doors and a bottom drawer freezer, above, is $1,776 (orig $2,220).

I'm pretty happy with our Sears refrigerator, which we've had for about a year now.
You do have to watch the prices and wait for the sales.
And be sure to MEASURE before you shop. Our older house can only accommodate certain sizes in its "refrigerator space." You should also take the measuring tape with you to measure the fridges at the store.
And try to get an EnergyStar-certified refrigerator. Another way to save $$$.
Do you have a spare fridge in your garage? I say get rid of it.
