Christmas sale in Glendale

ALGlendale.jpgIf you want to get a jump on your holiday shopping, a Christmas sale run by the non-profit Assistance League of Glendale starts next week, says Natalie, an organizer who told me about the sale. They will have new and used ornaments, decorations, holiday sweaters and winter clothing, silver serving pieces, children's toys, linens and other holiday paraphernalia.

Ornaments are 10-cents to $10. A three-piece Silver plated casserole dish with a lid and a Pyrex liner (to cook the dish in the oven) is $25. A pair of sterling silver candle holders are $20. A glass punch bowl with 8 cups is $5. An embroidered white tablecloth with matching napkins is $10. Decorative tins are 25-cents to $1.

The items they are selling are donated by league members and the community. Everything that does not sell will be sold in the group's thrift shop, which is next door to the main sale.

The Christmas sale is Thursday, August 21 from 10am to 3pm, Friday August 22 from 10am to 3pm AND 5pm to 7pm, and Saturday from 10am to 3pm. It is being held at 314 E. Harvard Street in Glendale.

Free parking in an adjacent lot. Cash, checks and credit cards. Prices are firm. Proceeds support the league's programs, such as Operation School Bell, which provides clothing for need local children.
