Sell kids stuff as quick as they outgrow it
Make money off your kids' old clothes, toys, books, furniture, and equipment at the Santa Clarita Valley Kids Consignment sale. Being a consignor costs $10 and you earn 65% of your items' sale price, which you set. Or earn 70% if you volunteer for three hours, which also gets you into the pre-sale.
To be a consignor you must have between 30 and 250 items to sell, all free of stains, rips, tears. Toys and equipment must be in working condition. Read the consignor guidelines. Kristin Nelson, who runs the sale, is accepting 200 consignor spots and they usually sell out. Register here.
If you have not been to one of Nelson's sales they are a sight to see. Imagine an incredibly well organized warehouse full of kids stuff. I have written about her past sales (she does the same thing in Van Nuys sale in October) for the Daily News and many of the women I interviewed said they made enough money selling their items to buy everything their kids needed for their next growth spurt. It takes work to tag all your sale items, but the chances for profit are high because so many people come to the sale.
The SCV sale is September 19 to 21, 2008 at Granary Square at 25830 McBean Pkwy in
Santa Clarita.
