The e.l.f conundrum
Makeup, brushes and tools are all $1 at e.l.f.. The first time I blogged about this site I was pretty amazed, but one reader immediately burst my bubble.
"This make-up is terrible, it's only a $1.00, because it's barely worth that.....i purchased a lot and threw it all away...."
I have not bought anything from e.l.f. but I still think this $1 makeup may not be a bad idea for certain occasions. Why pay more when you need bizarre colors to go with a costume, have to fill gift bags, want to test out a new shade, or are in need of disposable tools?
A set of four powder puffs, above, are $1. Lip gloss sold in tiny tins are $1 each. Many items, like makeup kits, cases, bath supplies are much more than $1, including a $20 mineral powder starter kit.
Get $2 shipping at e.l.f. on orders of $25 or more until August 31, 2008. Use code EGSHIPT.

I bought a lot of makeup brushes from e.l.f. and they are all great! I have not tried their makeup though.
I love their nail polish!!!
My tween loves it and for a buck you can't beat it for young girls.
I returned the mascara, it flaked off my eye lashes.
The brushes have been great.
One thing I don't like, is that you can't really tell the colors.
I don't feel safe ordering something if I can't do a test to see if it's the right shade for me.
Any of the lip products are great though!
I bought over 40 items and threw everything out except for the brushes. The dollar store has better quality makeup.
Did not like ELF makeup but saw it in the .99 cent store.
We are able to buy ELF at Food 4 Less in our neighborhood. It's a great way to see if my girls liked the effort required with eyeliner, eyeshadow, etc. They really like the brushes and makeup pads.
I can honestly say that i love E.L.F. products, everyone always wants to know what kind of make-up i use or if i even use any at all, it looks so natural, and not just that,it gives you a certain glow that i can't get with any other brand that i have tried. I love it, and the price is also a plus :)
(for those who think otherwise keep in mind we all have different skin, it may not work for you, but for others it does, it may also help if you follow instructions on their site to get tips on how to apply it and wear it)
I bought the elf brush set and:
-My large powder brush came loose from the wooden handle. I had to glue it back on.
-The flat eyeliner brush is the most useful for me since liquid and pencil liners give me endless trouble. Gives great results when you wet it and brush it across eyeshadow.
-I hate getting my fingers messy so the lip brush is ideal when I need to apply lip balm from a jar.
