Get cash for gift cards
Got an extra gift card or three? Swapagift will buy your gift cards for a percentage of the value on the card as long as there is no expiration date. You can also buy and sell gift cards through the site.
Their rates are not great, however. More major retailers they offer 60 to 65% of the card's value. I think you could do better trying eBay, Craigslist, or by re-purposing the card into a gift for someone else.
On the other hand, I have been carrying around a Pottery Barn gift card for more than five years. I probably would have been better off selling it.
