Starbucks merch 20% off
Get 20% off most merchandise at your local Starbucks Dec. 9 through Dec. 15, a PR rep tells me. The discount excludes beverages, unfortunately, but does include packaged food, brewing equipment, tea and coffee (whole bean), gift packs, entertainment, serve ware and tumblers.
It is happening in stores across the country, so call your local store first to check. You do not need a coupon to get the discount. In stores only.
The discount excludes fresh food, beverages (handcrafted and RTD), starbucks gift cards, and gold card membership.

This tells me that even the tough Starbucks that has resisted disocounting in all but very limited circumstances (closeout of an item, etc.) is under immense pressure to drive sales!
For us as consumers, you can almost double your disocunt by purchasing $100 worth of Starbucks gift cards at Costco for $80.00 (equals a 20 percent discount), and then receive an additonal 20 percent discount on your merchandise purchase(s) at your local Starbucks.
This effectively is a 36 percent discount when using the Costco-purchased Starbucks gift card(s).
You didn't mention it, but I will assume that the discount does not apply to the calorie-laden breakfast treats, pastries and sandwiches in the display case.
For me, I never was a fan a Starbucks from the time they opened one of their first southern California locations at Granary Square in Valencia. I have always thought they were way overpriced.
Now that I can use Starbucks for free Wi-Fi, courtesy of my AT&T home phone DSL subscription, I find myself visiting Starbucks more often than McDonald's for free Wi-Fi (Mc Donald's was one of the first places nationally where you could obtain free Wi-Fi through your AT&T home phone DSL subscription...and still can).
Because of my AT&T home phone DSL subscription, I don't have to sign-up for Starbucks rewards program or regsiter a gift card in order to use Wi-Fi for free. Through AT&T, it's free and unlimited!
I wonder though if Starbucks new Wi-Fi contract with AT&T is increasing sales at their retail stores, simply beacuse of the sheer number of people who have home DSL subscriptions through AT&T?
I'll have to watch the CBS Evening News interview tonight at 6:30 p.m. as Katie Couric as she interviews Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz as Schultz reads the tea leaves...I mean coffee beans for us and his empire and tells us what's wrong with Starbucks. LOL
