The REAL hot holiday toys (plus discounts)

| | Comments (1) |

HotThermometer.jpgFile this under the "thank goodness for Google" category, because the online search giant has shared what holiday gift items people are searching for the most. Of course, you could always just ask the people you are shopping for what they want.

Topping the list are the Nintendo Wii, Wii fit, and the iPod touch. Other popular items are the Xbox 360, Nintendo ds, iPod nano, Uggs, Nikon d90, Zune, and digital picture frames.

The above link also has the top 10 most searched items among video games and toys, specialty food and cold weather clothing. In the last category ugly Christmas sweaters are apparently the new black.

Google has also provided a number of $5, $10 and $20 off coupons for using Google Checkout (a rival to PayPal) at certain retailers like Starbucks, PetCo and J&R. The caveat is you gotta spend $30 to get $5 off and more for the bigger discounts.

I've used Google Checkout before. Without the competition, PayPal would be robbing all of us more than it already is, so Google is providing an extremely vital service.

If you're an online retailer, definitely consider using Google Checkout as your payment service, and if you're a regular Joe (not The Plumber), signing up with Google Checkout is a very good thing.
