Calif. African American Museum and LACMA free

CAAMArtWork.jpgGet in free to the California African American Museum on on Jan. 18 and Jan. 19, 2009 as part of a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King that is sponsored by Target.

Hours on the free days are from 11 to 5 Jan. 18 and noon to 5 Jan. 19.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is also free on Monday Jan. 19 from noon to 8. They are free on other holidays, too.

At the museums named above, Target is also sponsoring free admission for the CAAM on the first Sunday of each month, and at LACMA, free admission on all observed federal holiday Mondays.

In addition Target is sponsoring free admission at the following:

Japanese American National Musuem (JANM)
Beginning in February, free admission and programming the second Saturday of the month (except August). 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

In addition, every Thursday evening is free from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and free all day every third Thursday 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. (Not sponsored by Target)

For those in the Whittier and San Gabriel Valley areas (you don't have to be from those areas to obtain the free admission), Target also sponsors the Children Museum at La Habra (CMLH), operated by the City of La Habra.
