Today the Shoe Megashop opens in Glendale next to the Americana at Brand mall. The store is owned by Marshalls.
The fun starts at 8 am and goes until 10 pm. The first 300 customers get a re-useable shopping bag. An ad I saw says Shoe Megashop will have "the same designer and brand names you'd find in dept. and shoe stores right now, but for up to 50% off their prices."
Visit the shoe store at 142 South Brand Blvd. in Glendale. (818) 241-0675. Get driving directions here.
Thanks, Barb!
Shoe Pavilion is having going-out-of-business sales at all of its 64 stores, according to a story in the Daily News.
"The going-out-of-business sale, which is being conducted by a joint venture group that includes Tiger Capital Group, is expected to last 10-12 weeks, with some stores closing sooner," the story says.
Shoe Pavilion is known for low-prices. But apparently, the prices were not low enough. The Sherman Oaks-based company has been around for 29 years and has stores in California, Washington, Oregon and New Mexico.
Find a Shoe Pavilion near you. Remember to watch out for high prices at closing sales!
Get $10 of any pair of boots that cost $50 or more from DSW now through Sunday, October 19, 2008. Use code BOOTS.
Logged in DSW rewards members can also get free shipping on tabs of $25 or more with code RSHOSHP through November 3, 2008.
Both codes are online only. The boots page on the DSW site takes forever to load because of all the shoe pictures.
Once it does come up, jump to the $50 boots by sorting the price low to high, then jump to page 5. (There are a lot of galoshes and ankle boots for less than $50 that are not eligible for the $10 off discount.)
Caveats: not valid in stores or toward previous purchases. Terms and conditions are subject to change at the discretion of DSW.
Get $20 off orders of $100 or more or $50 off purchases of $200 or more at Shoes.com now until October 6. Use code FALLSALE08 to get the discount. Some exclusions apply.
The code knocks $70 off a rockin' pair of chocolate brown Frye Caroline boots, for $328 (orig $398). That's still a whole lotta moolah for shoes. I think I'll stick to my black Tony Lama hand me downs. Perhaps you'll find a better deal on their sale pages.
You can also get 10% off all items using code SEPT08, which expires Tuesday, September 30. You cannot use both codes at once.
Caveats: The discount codes exclude bags and all merchandise from the following brands: Allen Edmonds, Allrounder, Bragano, Bruno Magli, Burton, Cole Haan, Crocs, Dansko, Diesel, Donald J Pliner, Ecco, G Series, K-Swiss, LAMB, Keen, Kenneth Cole, Lucchese, Mark Nason, MBT, Mephisto, Merrell, Puma, Puma Black Label, Royal Elastics, Siren, Stuart Weitzman and Ugg.
Nordstrom's shoe clearance has hundreds of pairs of shoes for 40% off. There are 44 pages online and with 21 pairs per page that = 924 pairs. Examining them all is going to require a lot of shirking of duties at work! For you, I mean, not me. I'm on a shoe moratorium. :(
A black leather short boot with a 2 1/2 inch heel from Frye, above, is $160 (orig $270). A Tsubo leather sandal with a low wedge heel and wide peep toe opening is $65 (orig $110).
A super cute and fishy Chooka rain boot is $35 (orig $60). A Keen Ventura sneaker is $35 (orig $60). I paid $50 for a pair on sale at REI so this is a good price. A few kid's pairs are also on sale.

I'm already drooling for Shoe Frenzy 2008! The Women's Clinic & Family Counseling Center puts on the benefit sale once a year and I hear it is fabulous.
Reader Sue says "I've been here several times--totally chaos, but fun and you can find some bargains if you get there....really early! Some people get there at midnight and something that I learned after the first time was to bring some duck tape or something to hold the boxes together as you have to carry them all with no baskets!"
Mark your calendars. The sale is Saturday, September 6 from 8 am to noon. They sell brands like Kenneth Cole, Seychelles, Betsey Johnson and Diesel. Most pairs are under $50 and all pairs are under $100. The clinic gets merchants to donate the shoes, which are all new. Click here and scroll down to see pictures of pairs sold at past sales and their pricetags.
Caveats: Admission is $1. Parking is free. They accept cash, check with ID and credit card. All sales are final. Doors open at 8 am and you cannot line up before 7, but you can show up early and get a numbered line-up bracelet.
Visit them at the Veterans Memorial Complex Auditorium, 4117 Overland Ave. in Culver City. Thanks, Sue!
All summer sandals are 15% off at Shoes.com now through August 27, 2008. The discount works with regular and sale pairs. Use code SANDALS08 when checking out. Not sure if the code is case sensitive.
Perhaps you can use this while back to school shopping! Before the discount a pair of women's wedge slides with leather crossover straps by Onex, above, are $70.
Browse women's sandals, men's sandals and kid's sandals.
Macys online shoe clearance has uber-low prices on dozens of pairs of flats, heels, sandals and more. You can shop by price: $29 and under, $39 and under, and $49 and under, or look at them all at once.
Strappy Greek-inspired gladiator sandals are supposed to be in this summer. Here's a pair for $34 (orig $49) that have two adjustable ankle straps and a flat sole.
I like this pair of black peep-toe heels from Chinese Laundry, above, for $28 (orig $69). Only problem is they only come in size 7. Women with small feet are to be envied. They have many more options at shoe sales.
A black slide with a large buckle over the toes from Bandolino is $30 (orig $59). It comes in many sizes.
Don't forget to check out their clearance handbags.
Get 15% off regular priced shoes at Shoes.com for the rest of the month! Use code BTS08 at checkout to get the discount.

May not be redeemed for cash, combined with other offers, or applied to previous purchases.
Hello! DSW has almost 600 pairs of heels, sandals and flats on clearance, plus about 200 men's shoes on sale. Many pairs are in the $20 to $40 range. If you are part of their free rewards program you can get free shipping on tabs of $50 or more through August 4, 2008 with promo code REWS7.
A pair of R2 skimmers in a brownish green with tiny pink and white dots, above, is $20 (orig $40). Shop women's sale pairs or men's sale pairs. The pages are taking a long time to load because of all the shoe pictures so give the links plenty of time to come up.
Caveats: free shipping for the contiguous U.S. states only. Gift cards, gift wrap, shipping and taxes do not count toward the $50 qualification. Cannot be combined with other offers.
It's unclear is the sale is also going on in stores. Find a DSW near you.
A reader sent me a tip that the deals at all Skechers Warehouse Outlets just got a little sweeter. They now have a frequent shopper card that gives you a free pair of shoes after you buy ten pairs within one year. You can use the card at their outlet stores but not at their retail stores or other places that sell Skechers.
If you have multiple children and can find shoes for yourself there, buying ten pairs in one year may not be too hard. Remember to get your card stamped each time.
Caveats: to get a stamp each pair must be $25 or more. Free pair must be $50 or less.
In LA there are Skechers Outlets in Tarzana at 18143 Ventura Blvd. and in Van Nuys at 6426 Van Nuys Blvd. Find a Skechers near you and scroll down to see the outlet locations.
Get $20 off an order of $100 or more at Shoes.com with a code that is good until the end of the month. When checking out online use promo code JUNE20OFF100.
A green leather pair of Teva sandals with a cushioning cork heel is $70. A Rampage red patent leather shoe with a low heel, above, is $40. It's not as crazy as what comes to mind when you see the words "red patent leather." Get both pairs for $90 with free shipping using the code.
Get an extra 25% off all sale items at Shoes.com now until Friday, June 13. Use code SUMMERSALE08 at checkout. A super cute pair of Steve Madden platform slides with a gold ring at the toes is $48 (orig $80). A pair of Kenneth Cole 8Reaction flats with holes, above, come in black or brown and are $47 (orig $80).
You can also get $50 off orders of $200 or more on *most* items using code JUNE50OFF200 until June 13.

Designer women's shoes are on sale this weekend as part of a fundraiser for Family Matters @ Work, a non-profit project that helps low wage workers balance work and family demands. 20% of proceeds will be donated to Family Matters @ Work.
The sale is Saturday, June 7 from noon to 4 at Joe Berger & Sons, a wholesale shoe distributor that only sells to the public for charity events. "It's a funky, old dusty "hole-in-the-wall" store that is not open to the public," an organizer told me.
The last time there was a sale at Joe Berger they accepted cash and major credit cards only and charged $2 to $4 for paying with your credit card. Not sure if this rule still applies but be prepared.
Visit Joe Berger & Sons at 403. E. Washington Blvd. in Los Angeles.
