A lot of parents are freaked out, rightly so, about the Mattel toy recalls (mostly because of high levels of lead paint). So the comparison shopping Web site Shopzilla did a little reserach into where people can buy toys online that are made in the good 'ol USA. Haven't checked these out yet so I can't vouch for them, but I thought you would be interested.

Shopzilla also compiled this list of items that are American Made: Bicycle Playing Cards, Battleship, Boggle Jr., Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, Clue, Connect Four, Crayola Crayons*, Life, Louisville Slugger, Monopoly, Mouse Trap, Operation, Parcheesi, Play-Doh*, Pop-O-Matic Trouble, Radio Flyer Discovery Wagon, Scrabble, Sorry, Stratego, Tri-ominos, Trivial Pursuit, Yahtzee, and anything from American Plastic Toy Company.
* Some Crayola Crayons and Play-Doh containers are NOT made in the USA. Check the label.
Games have evolved a lot since I grew up playing Connect Four and Parcheesi (one summer my sisters and I played it non stop for like two weeks) but I bet kids will still get a kick out of the classic toys on the list. Fun is fun, right?
