Time running out for Corona’s Main Street Brewery

Time is running out for Corona’s award-winning Main Street Brewery.

Connected to Lamppost Pizza at 300 N. Main St., the brewpub was scheduled to close on Sunday (January 26), but has gotten a brief reprieve.

The pizzeria and adjoining brewery are now scheduled to close Tuesday (February 4).

However, Main Street’s brews will certainly be gone by then.

I & I Brewing moves into its new home

The best little brewhouse in Chino just got a whole lot bigger.

I & I Brewing has moved from its cozy quarters at 14175 Telephone Ave., Suite J, where it has been for two years, to a much larger and more visible space at 5135 Edison Ave., Suites 1 and 2, which seems like it’s been in the works for nearly that long.

If you’ve ever ventured out to I & I before (and if you haven’t…why not?), you’ve likely passed the new location on your way to the old one.

What’s in a name? Federal Brewing is now Progress Brewing

South El Monte’s best (OK, only) brewery, Federal Brewing, recently underwent a name change in response to a cease-and-desist letter — not from a similarly-named up-and-coming Maryland brewery, but from a certain L.A. County drinking establishment, which shall remain nameless.

The brewery is now known as Progress Brewing. Please update your bookmarks accordingly.

The Rookery celebrating first anniversary today with special brews

Rookery First AnniversaryPomona’s The Rookery Alehouse & Grill is celebrating its first anniversary this weekend, and it’s kicking off the festivities at 11 a.m. today (January 17).

As part of the event, the eatery will be tapping 19 special beers from Southern California and beyond that it has squirreled away.

The celebration will last until 8 p.m. Sunday (January 19), however the beers likely will not.

Hangar 24’s Vinaceous makes its return Saturday

Vineaceous 2014Hangar 24 Craft Brewery’s English-old-ale-plus-Mourvedre-grapes-from-Temecula’s-Wilson-Creek-Winery Local Fields brew, Vinaceous, makes its return for general consumption at 11 a.m. Saturday (January 18).

The release will be accompanied by an all-day (’til midnight) celebration, with bands (Groove Session, The Higgs) and New Orleans-style food from the Big Easy Sandwich.

Eagle Rock Brewing to celebrate fourth anniversary January 26

The event will take place from noon to 6 p.m. at the brewery, 3056 Roswell Street, Los Angeles.

Featured will be several special beer releases, including all of the brewery’s anniversary beers (including the this year’s, White Rabbit) and special cask brews.

La Quinta Brewing Co. beer pairing dinner tonight at Bellatrix Restaurant

Palm Desert’s Bellatrix Restaurant is hosting a La Quinta Brewing Co. beer pairing dinner at 6:30 p.m. tonight (January 10).

Cost for the three-course dinner is $39 per person. Brewer Ryan Pearson will be in attendance.

Dale Bros. Brewery to celebrate 11th anniversary January 25

Brews and BrosDale Bros. Brewery will celebrate its 11th anniversary Saturday, January 25, at Cable Airport in Upland.

The brewery will have plenty of friends with which to celebrate its Brews & Bros Craft Beer Festival…25 breweries are expected to participate.

Tickets for the event are available now. General admission tickets for the event are $40 (plus $2.39 service fee), with V.I.P. tickets (preferred parking, one hour early admission, plus meet the brewer) available for $50 (plus $2.74 service fee). Designated driver and under-21 tickets are $10 (plus $1.34 service fee), while kids under 12 get in free.

V.I.P. and general admission tickets include a tasting glass and wristband for beer tasting. Prices will be $5 more at the door.

The event is a fundraiser for the Claremont Educational Foundation.
