Latest Inland Empire brewery — Big Bear Lake Brewing Co. — set to open Tuesday

We’ve been watching the progress of several Inland Empire breweries — Escape Craft Brewery (Redlands), Hamilton Family Brewery (Rancho Cucamonga), Skyland Ale Works (Corona), Delicious Science Brewery and Polymath Brewing Co. (Riverside), and Rök House Brewing Company (Upland) — as they lurch toward their opening dates.

Yet another, Big Bear Lake Brewing Co., is set to open at 5 p.m. Tuesday (April 8).

The brewery is owned by local entrepreneur David Stone, who owns several lodges in the area, along with the The Cave events center.

The brewery’s brewmaster is Ron VandenBroeke, formerly of the Cucamonga Brewing Co. in Rancho Cucamonga. Stone also purchased the brewing equipment from Cucamonga Brewing Co. when the brewery shut down last summer.

The brewery is at at 40827 Stone Road in the Big Bear Lake Village.

In addition to the brewery’s brews and a selection of wines (including Stone’s own Stone Summit wines), the brewery will have pub-style food available.
