New Brew: Golden Road Brewing celebrates volunteerism in LA Thursday with release of The Works IPA

Following in the philanthropic brewing spirit of the likes of its Heal The Bay IPA, Atwater Village-based Golden Road Brewing will release Thursday a 7.1 percent ABV IPA dubbed The Works in recognition of nonprofit LA Works and its annual Day of Service Sept. 12.

“L.A. Works and Golden Road Brewery is a match made in hops heaven; both organizations believe in inspiring greater civic engagement,” said Bob L. Johnson, founder and board chairman. “When people enjoy a can of The Works IPA, my hope is they’ll think about how to pass on some of that happiness to their neighbors in need.”

LA Works will receive a portion of the proceeds from the limited edition, seasonal beer:
