Help choose the winner of the Mount Baldy Battle of the Brews Sunday

And then there were two.

Over the past couple of months, beer aficionados have gathered near the top of Mount Baldy and picked which brewery will advance in the Mount Baldy Battle of the Brews.

The competition began with 16 local — and not so local — breweries in June, pitting two breweries against each other Sunday afternoons tournament-style until there were just two remaining: Strum Brewing Co. and the winner of past years’ competitions, Rök House Brewing Company.

Attendees are also judges as they taste three beers from each brewery, giving each brew a numeric score, as well as choosing an overall winning brewery.

In return, they’ll get a pint of their favorite beer.

As opposed to previous years, this year’s competition is a blind tasting, with attendees unaware of which beers are from which brewery.

The finals will take place 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday (October 22), at the Top of the Notch restaurant on Mount Baldy.

Tickets are available online for $29, which includes a round-trip up the mountain on the Sugar Pine ski lift, the six tasters and the full pint.

All ages are welcome, however, a separate ski lift ticket will need to be purchased for those younger than 21.
