I was never a huge fan of Spike’s. Now that it’s closed, I’m sure some readers will be looking for an alternative. Try Golden Bowl (aka Golden Burger) in Covina. They have excellent chicken teriyaki and teriyaki burgers. They also sell gyoza and teriyaki chicken sandwiches.

Spike’s was ahead of its time, but changed ownership a while back. B-Man’s, at the corner of Huntington and San Gabriel, is run by the same family that ran Spike’s.
Taisho in monrovia/arcadia area is my favorite.
