The Air Force plans to launch the 23rd and final Defense Support Program satellite on Saturday from Cape Canaveral.
The launch will occur during a window from 5:39 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday. It will take 6 hours and 20 minutes for teh satellite to separate from teh launch vehicle.
Built by Northrop Grumman's Redondo Beach-based Space Technology sector, the DSP constellation was a Cold War work horse that detected nuclear detonations and ballistic missiles.
