Bold predictions on the economy from a 78-year-old man in today's Business Casual column. This man also predicted before the Iraq invation of 2003 that the military plan would turn into a big mess. And now he says we shouldn't escalate the war in Afghanistan. He's an interesting, opinionated person.

About two years ago, on the heels of an unusual conversation with a source, I wondered briefly if our economy was ready to unravel.

Read the whole column.
