They may sound odd, but $790,000 just doesn't seem like a lot of money to sway members of Congress and whoever else they reached out to in the federal government. But maybe it doesn't cost much to gain such influence in Washington.


DirecTV spent $790,000 in 4Q lobbying

(AP) El Segundo-based DirecTV Inc., the nation's largest satellite TV operator, spent $790,000 in the fourth quarter lobbying the federal government on issues ranging from taxes to sports programming access.

DirecTV also lobbied on the pricing of sports programming and exclusive deals.
