I guess it had to happen eventually. But it's still shocking when it does occur.
I had my identity stolen and documented it in my Business Casual column.
Here's how I started the column:


Whenever I get a call from my bank, I usually allow the person on the other end 30 seconds to make a sales pitch.

Then I jump in and politely decline to purchase whatever service they're peddling.

On Tuesday, my bank rang me again. This time, I was the one prolonging the call.

Someone had stolen my identity.
