United Online picks FTD

Valley-based United Online, which previously gobbled up Classmates.com, has plucked another well-known company for its portfolio, FTD, the floral network.

United Online/FTD will probably be a good combo because 1-800-flowers.com has a lot of stickiness in the online space, and United can only help FTD expand in that area.

At least that's the theory.
