Mayweather disses Guerrero

Don’t miss Wednesday’s third episode of “All Access: Mayweather vs. Guerrero,” at 10 p.m. on Showtime.

One of the topics will be the recent arrest of Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, who will challenge Floyd Mayweather Jr. for his welterweight title May 4 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas (on Showtime pay-per-view).

Guerrero was arrested late last month at JFK Airport in New York for having a gun in his possession. He is facing a total of four charges that could mean prison time if convicted.

It was a surprising development because Guerrero is such a devout Christian. In an interview with this newspaper, his boss – Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer – suggested Guerrero had the unloaded weapon because he likes to target practice. But Mayweather is not going to let him off that easily.

Here is one of the excerpts from Wednesday’s show.

“This is a religious guy, you know,” Mayweather said. “He’s preaching how he’s supposed to be a role model. … He’s contradicting himself. Big-time hypocrite.”

Mayweather did two months in jail in 2012 for a domestic violence conviction.

Guerrero, 30, is 31-1-1 with 18 knockouts. Mayweather, 36, is 43-0 with 26 knockouts.
