Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent is Rios

Michael Koncz, adviser to Manny Pacquiao, told several news outlets Monday that Pacquiao’s next fight will come against former lightweight champion Brandon Rios on Nov. 24 from Macau, China; that is Nov. 23 in the United States. reported that the contracts are being finalized, and that the welterweight bout will be televised on HBO pay-per-view.

Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KOs) was knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez in the sixth round this past Dec. 8 in Las Vegas.

Koncz told that Marquez turned down a fifth fight with Pacquiao, and that Timothy Bradley turned down a second fight with Pacquiao. Bradley won a controversial split decision over Pacquiao on June 9 in Las Vegas.

Rios (31-1-1, 23 KOs) was defeated by Mike Alvarado via narrow decision in an interim junior welterweight title fight March 30 in Las Vegas.
