Athletes all pick Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Of the 19 athletes or former athletes polled about Saturday’s welterweight title fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, every one of them picked Mayweather to retain his title.

Among them were Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp, Lakers forward Metta World Peace and former UCLA guard/forward Shabazz Muhammad.

“Floyd by decision, he’s too fast for Guerrero,” Kemp said.

“Floyd knocks him out in the fifth,” Muhammad said.

“Mayweather will rally late in the fight to win a decision, eight rounds to four,” World Peace said.

Another polled was NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw.

“Mayweather is a proud fighter who wants to remain undefeated,” Bradshaw said. “He knows how to win big fights … and he won’t lose a fight in Vegas.”
