Whoever coined the phrase politically correct should be locked in a room and forced to listen to audio tapes of Michael Moore for hours on end.

Political correctness is annoying, condescending and delusional. Anyone who wants to change the language to fit what they find acceptable is unacceptable. Who farted and left them in charge?

The most recent example of political correctness at its most annoying involves Miss California and a judge at the Miss USA Pageant. What is it about these events?

This was not your mother's beauty pageant by any means. Some of the questions asked of the finalists made you wonder if they were on "Meet the Press."

The beauties were asked about topical new stories ranging from the AIG bailout to whether the U.S. should send more troops into Afghanistan. Wow, Sarah Palin, herself a former beauty queen, really left her mark on the American psyche.

These gals were probably at the ready with "I hope for peace in the world and I would end world hunger if I could" answers. Instead it was like they were somehow parachuted into "60 Minutes" and had to face-off with Mike Wallace.

Hey, these girls are into "what do you like better, unicorns or butterflies" not "should we bailout the auto corporations or cut taxes."

It's the question and answer session where the controversy was crowned.

Poor Miss California, Carrie Prejean, was asked by judge Perez Hilton, a blogger who is openly gay, what was her stand on same-sex marriage.

Carrie, who later said spoke from her heart, said she believed marriage should be between a man and a woman.

Well, you would have thought she said death to all puppies or something. She got some boos and some cheers. After immediately answering from her heart, she apologized for her honest answer and said she was sorry if she offended anybody.

You had me at speaking from your heart, Carrie. Apologizing for an answer that ain't politically correct has got to stop. You didn't apologize for being hotter than most of the other gals on stage, did ya?

Of course Carrie didn't win. And some were blatant to say her honest answer cost her the crown. Hell, Perez probably thinks it looks better on him anyway. Not sorry if I offended anyone.

It didn't stop there. Hilton didn't spend enough of his 15 minutes of fame on this. He told news shows Carrie lost because of her answer to the gay marriage question. Then he called her the "B" word. Then he called her the "C" word." The "C" word!

Carrie looked crushed when the "Today" show or some such thing told her that. She certainly didn't deserve to hear it.

Hilton may think he's hot stuff because he's in with the politically correct in crowd. But he's also a misogynist. Funny thing about misogyny -- it's almost acceptable where beauty pageants are concerned. Since women who compete in those contests are somehow looked down upon.



Ridicule me this, Batman: It's acceptable to ridicule beauty pageants. They fall in to only a select few that are not P.C. protected. Like men. Or the Catholic faith.

Funny that Barack Obama gave relatively the same answer (only more wordy) as Miss California about gay marriage. And he still won the presidency.

But that's a different type of beauty contest. Which is why John McCain used to like to say he'd never be chosen as Miss Congeniality.



For those who believe the liberal media would probably take blogger Hilton's side over beauty Prejean, you might be right.

On more than one occasion when MSNBC reported on this story they repeated that Miss California gave the "controversial" answer that a marriage should be between a man and a woman.

Controversial?

They even said her answer was "divisive."

I'm with Carrie on this one. She chose to tell it like it is.

And isn't that what it's all about, liberal cronies: a woman's right to choose?
