When was the last time your boss went to get take-out for his employees and brought back a bunch of burgers and fries in two big greasy bags?

If you watched NBC's tour of the Obama White House, you saw the president do just that for his staff.

If you're a cynical P.O.'d at the world Republican you'd be quick to blog, twitter , e-mail or get air time on Fox News to blabber that President Obama did that because the cameras were rolling.

He is, after all, the Celebrity-in-Chief.

Even if the cynics are right about this -- so what? It was fun to see him out and about at a burger joint reading off take out orders for his staff. He even got host Brian Williams a burger.

It may be all show, but it is entertaining.

The TV tour focused alot on the people behind the president. All of them busy and a lot of them already stressed out.

And they all like M&Ms.

Interesting to see the workings of the Obama White House and the hectic goings on (like all our jobs, except for better perks.)

But it was all about The Man. While everyone is running around looking to get things done pronto like they were all chief of staff Rahm Emanuels, Obama was his usual calm self.

During the campaign, one of many criticisms of then-candidate Obama was that he didn't get angry -- didn't show much emotion.

Something tells me you wouldn't want to get this guy riled up.

The kind of guy who will take action -- show that anger -- when it's warranted.

Kind of like a character Clint Eastwood would play in a movie.

Again with the Celebrity-in Chief.

Obama is of course complemented by first lady Michelle, who has this pleasant aura about her. She embraces kids of all ages a lot. Makes one want to stand in line when she's handing out the hugs.

Scoff at that, Newt.

The GOP got all over the Obamas last week when they went out on a date to a Broadway play in the Big Apple.

What a bunch of collective sticks in the mud.

Sean Insanity even got on the prez because he put mustard on his hamburger.

If this is the best the Republican National Committee has to offer, no wonder party members on the fence could start their own reality show and call it "I'm a Republican -- get me out of here!"

No one -- not even your humble narrator -- got all snarky when Nancy and Ronnie were playing kissy-face all the time when they were in the White House. Even a couple on in years that you can tell really love each other makes you feel good.

Speaking of Reagan, a statue was unveiled of the 40th president in the Capitol the other day. It was a good likeness of the Gipper. His wife, quite frail now, was there --- and she was adament when thanking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for organizing the event. No one in the attendance applauded for Smiley Face, though. Ronnie wasn't bipartisan -- but he said he knew a lot of actors who were.

The clergyman who gave the benediction may have carried things a bit far when he told the crowd "people will be blessed by the words of Ronald Reagan."

Could be why Fox News referred to the coverage as "The Second Coming."

But back to NBC's coverage of the Obamas at work and at play.

No doubt about it, this was a valentine to the first couple. The honeymoon is still on -- and least with the liberal news media like that dern MSNBC.

Sidebar: While Obama was giving NBC a tour of the White House, Bill Clinton was busy giving some chubby chick a tour of his pants.

But this new president, with all the power and prestige he commands, has an easy way of showing he's not above all this pomp and circumstance.

He told Brian Williams that it's his turn at night to take Bo the dog out to do his business. The prez matter-of-factly put it all in perspective when he said "it's quite a moment" when he's picking up the doggie poop with the "White House lit up behind me."

He was probably used to it, still having to deal with all the crap the last administration left in its wake.
